Monadnock Paper Mills awarded Certificate of Leadership in EPAs green power program
September 10, 2007, Press Release - Just a few years ago, it was hard to conceive of a paper mill going "green"; yet that is exactly what Monadnock Paper Mills of Bennington, NH has accomplished. Not only are all of Monadnocks graphic arts printing and packaging papers made using 100% renewable electrical energy, they are manufactured carbon neutral. Monadnock has made a clear and solid commitment to leadership in sustainable manufacturing by making significant investments to continue reducing its carbon footprint and overall environmental impact. Recognizing the results of this commitment, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has awarded Monadnock with its Certificate of Leadership in the Green Power Leadership program. An ISO 14001: 2004 certified company, Monadnock further demonstrates its dedication to continuing "green" sustainability. Recognized worldwide, ISO 14001 certification, calls for a formal Environmental Management System (EMS), meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and demonstrating continuous improvement.
